Andries du Toit presented a paper on, and made a presentation of, the contradictions in South Africa's land reform and agricultural conferencies at a BASIS conference entitled  Escaping Poverty Traps: Connecting the Chronically Poor to Economic Growth  in Washington, D.C. (USA) on 26-27 February 2009.
