Biography

Dr Abebaw Andarge Gedefaw obtained Bachelor of Art (BA) in Geography and Environmental Studies (2003) from Bahir Dar University, Bahir Dar and MSc degree in Master of Science (MSc) in Population statistics (Reproductive Health) (2008) and Master of Science (MSc) in GIS, Remote Sensing & Digital Cartography (2012) both from Addis Ababa University. He obtained a PhD degree from the University of University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna (BOKU), Austria in 2021 in Doctor of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (Remote Sensing and GIS application in Land Administration & Land Management). Since 2014 Debre Markos University; Institute of Land Administration Assistant Professor in GIS and Remote Sensing 2021-2014. Between 2012 and 2014, he served Gondar University; Department of population studies as Lecturer.

He authors more than 4 peer reviewed scientific articles in various GIS and Remote Sensing, Land Administration, Land Management topics.

His research interest rests in GIS, Remote Sensing & Digital Cartography, Land Administration and Land Management, Land Use Planning and Statistics. He has work relations with Governmental and NGOs operating in Ethiopia.
