Biography

Patience Chadambuka is a Lecturer and Acting Chairperson in the Department of Community Studies (formerly Sociology Department), in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Midlands State University, Zimbabwe. She attained a PhD in Sociology with Rhodes University, South Africa, in 2021. She also holds an MSc in Sociology and Anthropology and a BSc in Sociology from the University of Zimbabwe as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education from the Midlands State University. Her areas of interest include Land and Agrarian studies, Migration, Ethnicity and studies of difference, Livelihoods and Gender studies. Patience has co-edited a book and authored book chapters and journal articles on land, livelihoods, ethnicity and gender. Modules taught include Introduction to Sociology, Gender and Power, Sociology of Development and Environmental Sociology. She also supervises Masters and Undergraduate students. Patience has also peer-reviewed articles for International Journals. Patience has also been awarded international research and teaching grants.
