Diana Aguiar

Biography

Diana Aguiar is an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA) in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil. She holds a PhD in Regional and Urban Planning from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and a MA in International Relations from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). With a research agenda in the interface of critical agrarian studies and political ecology, she has published on the political economy of soy and logistics routes, on the geopolitics of Chinese infrastructure in Latin America, and on deforestation and land grabbing in the Brazilian Cerrado’s Matopiba frontier. She has been a researcher and collaborator of several Brazilian and international organizations, such as the Land Pastoral Commission (CPT) and the Transnational Institute (TNI), among others.
