Biography
Dr Freedom Mazwi Is a Political Economist whose research focuses on Agrarian Transitions in Africa, with a specific focus on the penetration of capital in the countryside. He holds a Ph.D. in Development studies obtained from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Over the years, Freedom has been a Researcher with the Sam Moyo African Institute for Agrarian Studies, and Lecturer at the University of Cape Town. He also serves as an Editorial Assistant with the Agrarian South: Journal of Political Economy. He has published as co-editor, and single author, and his latest book is “The Political Economy of Contract Farming in Zimbabwe”, HSRC Press published in 2022.
