Biography

Mahamat Abdoulaye Malloum is a sociologist-historian, who worked for ten years in the land administration of Chad in urban and rural areas. Currently, he is preparing a doctoral thesis on land governance at the University of Maroua (Cameroon). He worked as a national consultant for Kadaster International (Netherlands) on a project to improve land administration in Chad. Expert in land governance, he is currently the Coordinator of the activities of national experts for the development of the land policy of Chad on behalf of FAO. Very active in the Chadian sector, he participates in the horizontal learning network of the LAND-at-scale program. Malloum is the author of several articles and papers on land tenure and the focal point of the Youth Initiative for Land in Africa (YILAA) in Chad.
