Nancy Kosgey

Biography

Nancy Kosgey is currently working with the National Land Commission (Kenya) as a Senior Research Officer in the Directorate of Land Use Planning and Research. She holds a Masters degree in Population Studies from the University of Nairobi and Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology from the University of Nairobi. She has mediation skills which she obtained through training from Mediation Training Institute (MTI) East Africa and negotiation skills which she obtained through a sponsored course by Nordic University which was offered in Dar es salaam, Tanzania. She is an experienced social scientist/researcher with lots of interest in generating high quality and timely data through research so as to inform policy. She has over 10 years’ experience in the field of research. Before she joined the National Land Commission, she worked with various organisations, government entities and civil society in various positions. Her immediate ambition is to carry out quality research on land and use of natural resources and generate research findings using tested tools, not for the sake of it, but for policy recommendations to relevant authorities for the betterment of disadvantaged populations. She likes reading story books when she is not working and doing sporting activities.
