Adane Mandie Damtew

Adane Damtew is a Ph.D. candidate in international law at Zhejiang Gongshang University, China. He was previously the head of department and lecturer of law at the University of Gondar, Ethiopia. In his stay at the university, he has taught environmental laws, including land and water laws, to his bachelor and masters students. He is also a legal advisor and consultant in Ethiopia. He has provided legal advice for all legal issues, but his advice projected to land laws as land issues are crucial to Ethiopia. Parallel with these, he is also conducting research on land and water issues. Prior to joining the University of Gondar, he was a public prosecutor in the Amhara region, one of the nine regional states in Ethiopia. His main duties were crime investigation and charge preparation, especially on illegal land invading. He has also worked for women’s land ownership rights.
