Fadzai Chipato holds a PhD in Rural Development and Management Studies from China Agricultural University. She researches on displacements induced in the name of development, land governance, hydro-politics, rural politics and livelihoods. She has published in peer-reviewed journals including, the Review of African Political Economy. She has been awarded several research and travel grants. These include but are not limited to Evidence in Governance Politics(EGAP), ROUL human rights and COVID-19 grant, GIZ Nelga Namibia research and travel grant, Sam Moyo research grant, and University of Sussex Sustainability summer school grant.
