Judith Murungi

Judith Murungi is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya. She has worked and continues to work as a legal researcher in various sectors and organizations both locally and internationally. Some of the organizations she has worked with include: The O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law, Washington DC, United States of America and Centre for Justice, Law and Society, Jindal Global Law School at O.P Jindal University India. She is passionate about human rights. She is a holder of Bachelors Degree in Law (Honors) from Uganda Christian University. She also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from The Kenya School of Law. She is currently pursuing a Master of Laws degree from The University of Nairobi.

She has studied various advanced human rights law courses from The Center for Human Rights from The University of Pretoria inclusive of The right to Development in Africa, Children’s Rights in Africa, Judicial Enforcement of Social Economic Rights in Africa, Policing Lockdown: Accountability and Oversight of the Criminal Justice System in COVID-19. She is also currently pursuing a course in the International Human Rights from Florida State University under The Center for Advancement of Human Rights. She has undergone training in various legal areas such as : Engagement with the African Court and African Commission on Human and People’s Rights under The Coalition for an Effective African Court on Human & People’s Rights, The Summer Program for Humanitarian Education and Research Exchange held by the Initiative on Forced Displacement at Boston University.

She has also been trained in The Essentials of GATT/WTO Revisiting The Fundamentals under The Centre for International Law under The University of Singapore, Reading and Interpreting International Trade Agreements, Case Studies : AFCFTA  and EAC. She also holds records of achievement from the World Health Organization in regard to COVID-19.  She looks forward to opportunities to collaborate with more organizations and to make notable contributions to the legal field internationally.
