Stephen Lesoron Gambare is an activist working on guidelines for governance and security of the commons. He supports the demands for justice of the indigent people – his contributions to discourse in Rendilleland social platforms have inspired actions that made the Marsabit County Government rescind a decision to confer Municipality status on some areas. He is currently rallying support for the Karare community in their quest to question the validity of a compulsory land acquisition meted out on them by Kenya Defense Forces without prior consent or public participation. In such cases he has been able to use spatial tools (GPS) and historical data to reference claims for territorial ownership and ascertain information provisioned through official maps. Faced with dire circumstances, he was able to mobilize support and even secured legal aid funds for Rendille Professional Association from Natural Justice.
