Biography

Peerzada Shah is a Delhi-based Kashmiri geographer. Combining ethnographic and spatio-geographical analysis, his research focuses on questions of hydro-politics, displacement, development, gender, and militarization in Kashmir. Using the political economy approach, his doctoral research examined the tripartite Indus Water Treaty and its effects on life and social relations in Kashmir. His writings have appeared in Projections: MIT Journal of Planning, History of the Present, Wasafiri, The Caravan, Wande magazine, and in edited anthologies by Routledge and Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. Having recently submitted his PhD thesis at the Delhi School of Economics, Ahmad teaches politics and gender as an Assistant Professor at O P Jindal Global University.
