Biography

Prosper Turimubumwe is a Burundian and currently a Ph.D. candidate in Land Policy and Governance at Bahir Dar University, Institute of Land Administration- Ethiopia. He holds a Master of Science degree in Urban Planning and Management (M.Sc. UPM) from Ardhi University, Dar es Salaam-Tanzania and a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Dar es Salaam. Before joining Ph.D. studies, Turimubumwe was an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Burundi, Faculty of Engineering Sciences, Department of Architecture and Urban Planning. He has been also assisting at private Universities in Burundi teaching courses related to Architecture and Housing. Turimubumwe has also served in different non-governmental organizations (NGOs) such as NPA, REDESO, and IRC-Burundi. He is interested in carrying out research in urban planning and management, urban development and sustainability, housing and settlements in urban and rural areas, land administration, land governance, urban governance, urban agriculture, urban economies, Urban ecology, urban lands, and public urban lands, and urban livelihoods. Up to now, Turimubumwe has five publications in different journals. Currently, he is researching Land Administration for Managing public Urban lands for Sustainable Urban Development: Case of Bujumbura City, Burundi for his Ph.D. Thesis.
