Biography

Solomon Dargie Chekole (Ph.D.) is an Assistant Professor of Land Policy and Governance at the Institute of Land Administration, Bahir Dar University. He graduated with his BSc degree in Land Administration, from the Institute of Land Administration, Bahir Dar University in 2010. He received his MSc degree in Geodesy and Geo-informatics in 2013 from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Stockholm, Sweden. He has also completed his PhD degree in Land Policy and Governance at the Institute of Land Administration, Bahir Dar University. His research interests fall in the areas of Land Administration, Land Management, Land Policy, Land Surveying, Cadastral Systems, Photogrammetry, and Remote Sensing. He has participated and presented several papers in both national and international conferences. He has published his works in international science indexed journals.

Moreover, he has been teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students. In-line with this, he has been advising research papers for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Apart from this, he has served as a Chair of Geodesy and Geo-informatics stream, Head of Land Administration and Surveying department, and Head of the Students Registration Office at the Institute of Land Administration.
