Joy van Dieman joined PLAAS in 2012, but has a long working history at the University of the Western Cape having worked in Residential and Catering Services for seven and a half years. She is also well-travelled and spent a two-year working holiday in Britain, taking on various secretarial and administrative roles.
As an Administrator she provides administrative support for the research staff, manages travel and calendars. She has a vast amount of experience in event management of the many PLAAS events. She is currently working on the NELGA project, alongside Prof Ruth Hall and Prof Moenieba Isaacs, serving as the administrative support for the short course offered. Joy has a strong passion for youth social development.
