Biography
Yvette le Fleur is a Junior Research and Information Officer at Masifundise Development Trust (MDT). MDT is a nonprofit organisation based in Cape Town, South Africa, focused on supporting small-scale fishers in South Africa in advocating for the realisation of their human rights, food sovereignty, and sustainable livelihoods.
She graduated from Rhodes University in 2021 with a Master of Social Science in Anthropology. Her thesis focused on conservation, protected areas, and local communities. She is currently seeking to further her knowledge, and have deeper conversations, on sustainable and socially just conservation in South Africa and beyond.
